JMG - Window MR

I’m very pleased to announce that, after looking for the ideal gallery space for some time, I have finally found it!

The Julia Mills Glass Designs – Gallery & Workshop, opened in Newlyn this month, adding to the wealth of quality Cornish art already on display in the town.

The gallery is at 1, The Coombe, and showcases my framed glass panels and smaller creations – or ‘tiddlers’ as they are known – all of which are made in response to the light and landscape of Cornwall.

Having previously occupied galleries in Porthleven and Mousehole, I am extremely excited to have found the perfect exhibition and workshop space in my home town of Newlyn.

JMG - Julia MRThe gallery is right in the heart of the town and we’re hoping that our bright, eye-catching window displays will prove irresistible to passers-by.

There is a real buzz about Newlyn at the moment, with great restaurants, galleries and our very own Filmhouse. It’s fantastic to be a part of that.

The work of a selection of other local artists will also be on display; paintings by Emma Williams, Billy Burman and Sophie Harding, driftwood figures by Lynn Muir, and ceramics by Lincoln Kirby Bell, Sue Binns and Jane Wellens.

As well as exhibiting finished pieces, I will be using half of the available space as a workshop; visitors will be able to see the process of creation and discuss ideas for unique commissions.

The Julia Mills Gallery can be found at 1, The Coombe, Newlyn, TR18 5HS. Summer Opening Hours are 11am – 5pm, Tues – Sat.
