It’s always exciting to see my work in fresh surroundings; even more so when the setting is the picturesque town of Dartmouth on the south coast of Devon. My glass panels have recently found a new home here at Baxters Gallery; an inspiring space filled with beautifully presented contemporary art, printmaking, craft and jewellery.
Sarah Duggan took over the gallery, which is located on a sunny corner between Foss and Flavel streets, in 2006. Sarah is instinctively drawn to work inspired by the coastline, and collections which “reflect a subtle sense of humour or the quirkiness of animal-life.”
On a recent visit I was pleased to see my work looked very at home, with several other artists and craftspeople from Cornwall represented. I will be delivering new work regularly and am always happy to consider commissions in the area, especially if it gives me an excuse to explore the beautiful river Dart.
The vibrant coastal town at the mouth of the river is a great place to visit, with plenty of tempting shops and restaurants – make sure you look out for the colourful window of Baxters Gallery and pay Sarah a visit.
