News: The Julia Mills Gallery is on the move!

Posted on: September 26th, 2018 by juliamills

I am excited to announce that I am moving to a new shared workshop next month in order to keep up with rising demand for online sales and commissions.

The current gallery in Newlyn will close at the end of September, after which I can be found at Unit 4, Harbour Road, also in Newlyn (behind Trelawny Fish Shop & Deli).

The public can still visit this new space to discuss commissions and make purchases from a selection of unique pieces in a variety of sizes.

The workshop will be shared with renowned potter Lincoln Kirby Bell, whose decorative vessels are instantly recognisable for their bold colours, distinctive patterns and sense of fun.

Lucie Sivicka will also be using the busy workshop; a versatile artist and maker, Lucie produces her own colourful ceramics and will assist me with larger commissions.

As much as I have enjoyed having the gallery, I’m really looking forward to focusing on the work behind the scenes – for example developing new designs for the framed panels I sell online. But most importantly the workshop will give me scope to take on a greater number of larger commissions, which were difficult to work on in the gallery setting.

The new workshop is in the heart of Newlyn’s working harbour area, behind Trelawney Fish & Deli and opposite the Lifeboat House.

There is plenty of parking directly opposite next to the fish market, and the workshop is accessed via some steep stone steps.

To be sure of finding at the workshop it is best to contact me in advance.

Address: Unit 4 Harbour Rd, Newlyn, TR18 5HA.

I hope to see you there soon,

Julia
