A new hub for artists in Penzance!

Posted on: October 23rd, 2020 by lucy

I recently became a member of Penzance Studios, a new group of artists which aims to raise the profile of the arts in Penzance. Through collaboration the organisation is helping artists find good spaces to work, giving them new platforms to sell their work, and celebrating the thriving arts scene of our town.

As a result of this exciting project, I have moved my studio to the heart of Penzance – into the shared studio space which forms the hub of Penzance Studios. The building is known as the Beehive, and is at the top of Arcade Steps (you can access Arcade Steps from Market Jew Street opposite Tesco, or via Bread Street.)

I share this wonderful new space with two other artists, painters Felicity Robertson and Catherine Harvey Jefferson. We have a gallery area downstairs where you can see our work.

We don’t keep regular hours at the studio but you are welcome to make an appointment to visit. To find out more about contacting me to arrange a visit, and details of how to find the studio, click here.

The move to the new studio has spurred me on to create lots of fresh work, including jewellery – always a great Christmas gift! Many pieces are now for sale via my Etsy Shop.

I’ve also been very busy working on some large new commissions; it was great to be able to focus on these uplifting pieces during lockdown earlier this year! With the nights closing in, I know these colourful and bright pieces will be giving a lot of joy to their new owners as we approach Christmas.

As ever, if you’d like to discuss a unique glass art commission, or enquire about the work I have available at the moment, please email juliamillsgallery@gmail.com or call 07875 279751.
