Glass Art Commissions
My glass art commissions range from small, framed stained glass hangings to full-scale architectural commissions, which can be incorporated as a unique artwork in your home.
I am happy to work with clients on any scale to produce a bespoke piece of glass which resonates with the individual person and setting. I can use colours and formal elements including landscape features, plants and animals which have a particular significance for people. I also enjoy working with designers and architects to explore the impact that colour and the reflective properties of glass can have on a space.
Mounted in either Copper-Foil for the decorative artworks or lead for the larger commissions, each piece transforms its surroundings as light passes through it, filling rooms with magical light and mysterious reflections.
I can provide example images and designs via e-mail but I am also always happy to welcome clients to my workshop in Cornwall, where inspiration awaits. In the workshop, surrounded by work in progress and images of past commissions, you will find a wealth of ideas for your own glass feature.
Here are some examples of past commissions. Please click on the images to enlarge.
1. Greek Door
Commissioned by a customer living in Greece, the brief was to depict both the Greek landscape (this is at the top with the mountains) and Cornwall.
2. Diamond Door Window
The client chose colours to match a particularly striking pinky quartz floor. She also wanted hedgerow flowers and a hare.
3. Panel for oak door
This large oak door depicts the client’s view at Perranporth. A sandblasted sea design was produced in the window above.
4. St Michael’s Mount
This was created for a client living in Marazion and depicts St Michael’s Mount. It is an internal window.
5. Mousehole Window
This window above the door of a picturesque cottage depicts the harbour in Mousehole.
6. Pastel Pilchard Wheel
Customer wanted the pilchard design but in the colours of her choice (gave me a swatch of fabrics and paint colours to match with my glass).
9. Engine House Panel
Local private commission depicting engine house on the Cornish coastal path at Rinsey.
10. Troy Sailing Boat
For a house in Fowey undergoing renovations, this depicts a Troy sailing boat (they were specifically designed for racing on the river there).
11. Yoga Room Window
This window was made for Tanya Clarke for her yoga studio at her house in Hawley. It depicts the woods around her house and a few pet chickens.
